A personal identification document such as ID, Passport or Driver's License is required. Student Cards are not accepted as an ID.
Lisbon Old Town Hostel has a 24hr reception, 7 days a week. Check-in starts at 13:00. Check-out time is by 11:00. Early arrivals can use our luggage room to leave personal items prior to check-in, as well as the hostel facilities in case they want to rest and chill while waiting for Check-in. Late departures also can use our luggage room to leave personal items after Check-out and may still use the hostel facilities throughout the day until the time they leave the hostel.
For online bookings: go to the "Book Now" page, select your dates and room type and follow the payment instructions. You'll then receive an email confirmation with your booking details and reference.
If you do an online booking you will be charged a non-refundable deposit of 15% of your total stay. For email/phone bookings there are no booking fees.
No! At Lisbon Old Town Hostel, the prices don’t change depending on your booking method. The price that will be charged for a bed, in a specific room for a specific date, is exactly the same if you just walk in our door, than the one that will be charged if you book by phone, by email or online.
Cancellations must be done 24hrs prior to arrival either by e-mail or phone. Failure to do so will result in forfeiture of the cost of the first night.
Yes, free linen is included. Beds are made prior to arrival.
We rent towels at 1€ per towel.
Yes, we offer a delicious Portuguese breakfast from 08:00 until the last person has eaten. No one will stay without breakfast at Lisbon Old Town Hostel ;-)
We have free WI-FI and also 3 computers with internet, which guests can use free of charge.
Yes, we have a washing machine available for 6€ / load. We also have ironing facilities board in case they are needed.
We have facilities for faxing and printing. There is also a payphone available for guests to use.
There is no curfew; you can enter and leave as you please.
No, all the WCs are shared between the guests. The hostel has 2 floor and 2 WCs per floor: one for girls and another for boys. Each WC has various toilets and showers so that nobody needs to wait.
We have a 24hr reception, so our staff always checks who comes in and who leaves the hostel. Everyone will have a key to access the room they are staying in and a personal key for an individual locker.
Most of our dorms are mixed, but we also have an 8-bed Female Dorm.
Yes, our dorm rooms are very big. The biggest dorms of 8 and 10 beds can take until 3 extra beds and you’ll still have lots of space to move around in the room. We can also put extra beds into the private rooms – for example for couples with children.
Yes, we have 2 kitchens fully equipped for the guests to cook and store their food.
Smoking is not permitted indoors (neither in the common areas nor in the rooms). For smoking, there is an outdoor area with a balcony and chairs, perfect for coffee and cigarettes ;-)

No. The hostel is situated in the center of the city in a building without garage. In the streets around the hostel there are lots of places to park the car, but you need to pay during weekdays from 9:00 until 19:00. During the weekend, it is FREE of charge to park close to the hostel. If you really need to leave the car in a parking lot, we suggest one that is located at 5 min walking distance from the hostel and costs around 13€ for 24hr.
Yes, we have secure bicycle storage.
Yes, we have all the touristic material (maps, guides, leaflets of events) and knowledge of the city and its activities to provide FREE of charge to our guests. One of the things we are known for is giving good suggestions and tips on what to do in Lisbon.
Yes, we have daily activities like Free Walking Tours, Pub Crawls, Dinners in the hostel and Jeep/Van tours to the surroundings of Lisbon. All the info about these activities is provided on the website in the 'Activities' section. Apart from organized activities there are always some spontaneous social events happening in the hostel.
Lisbon Old Town Hostel is an independent hostel, so it's not necessary to be a member of any organization, and you don't need to show any hostel card to use our services. Everyone is more than welcome to live a Lisbon Story with us.
We are afraid not. We do love animals, but we don’t have the necessary infrastructure to lodge animals.
We accept cash, Visa, MasterCard and Maestro. We do not accept American Express.
No, we do not have weekly rates.
Yes, Lisbon Old Town Hostel has a maximum stay policy of 1 week, but case by case we can extend this limit.
